Welcome to my personal website. My name is Martijn Chel and I am a multimedia producer. On this website you can find all the multimedia productions and projects I have been working on or on which I am still working. About
Who am I?
I am a multimedia producer in the broadest way possible. When it is media, it’s in my field. I successfully achieved a master degree in Media & Entertainment Management and officially became a multimedia producer. After I finished my study I went to work as a film/video producer and on the side I did some webdesign and marketing. Today I am working as an independant webdesigner, marketeer en blogger. Next to that I am still a freelance videoproducer. I have been a production manager for corporate films, TV commercials, documentaries and TV series for over three years. Film is where my passion has always been, but I found out that there is so much more than just film. The internet and all it’s possibilities for example. So, i decided to just widen my horizon and produce more than just moving images.
What have I done so far?
I have been working as a production manager for videoproductions for more than three years. Within these three years I gained great insight in the (commercial) film industry and produced some really nice commercials and films. But, next to my daily job I used my free time to work on more multimedia productions, like short (drama)films, no- or low-budget films and websites. Also, I founded a new company, called Zuiderfilm, in 2009. together with three professional filmmakers we decided it was to do what we love; making drama films. Check out my portfolio page for some nice things I have produced so far. Right now I am working as a ‘libero professionista’ in marketing and communications. I own and design a variety of websites and also market them. Next to his I am still a freelance film and videoproducer, also for Zuiderfilm.
What is my goal?
My goal is fairly simple. I am a communications expert who loves to produce multimedia formats! I want to keep making multimedia productions, especially filmproductions. Multimedia & communication is an area – I know, broad – that has my main focus and where my greatest strength lies. Therefore, my goal is to work together with enthusiastic and skilled professionals from the working field and create overwhelming, but especially emotion triggering, multimedia productions.

DeBendevanOssfilm.nl – Webdesigner, editor
For Entertainment One Benelux I created a new website for the new Dutch movie called De Bende van Oss. The goal of the website was to spread news, encourage social networking and in the end; making people familiair with the movie and encourage them to go and see it. The websites is filled with making-of material, pictures, stories, trailers and news item. I was in charge of the design and implementation of teh website, next to some editorial and marketing work.
TabletsMagazine.nl – Owner, design, editor
A website about everything that deals with tablets and aims at the technically “lower” educated consumer who wants to have more information about tablet hardware and software, in an easy-to-understand language. We offer news, reviews, a tablet guide and lots more information.
Copy Paste – Executive producer, production manager
Copy Paste is the first independent high-end short film production from the Zuiderfilm film collective. Copy Paste is the bizarre story of Miranda, a gorgeous and brilliant genetics-student who does not appear to not take her sworn oath of ethics very seriously. Her colleague Pieter, hopelessly in love, floats helplessly into her carefully spun web. See our website for more information Zuiderfilm.com
Veldkampprodukties.com – Webdesigner, editor
For Veldkamp Produkties B.V. I created a new website with the goal of being more informative, creative, social network oriented and transparent. These elements resulted in a complete and transparent website about the company and the people behind the company. Interactivity plays an important role within this website. The most recent results show a large increase in visitors and positive reactions from clients.
OUIJA – Executive producer, production manager
The last film by the Crew Expendable film collective, made during the National Film Festival in Utrecht, 2010. The assignment was to make a short film within the time limit of 48hours and following a few criteria, like a specific genre, line, prop and character. OUIJA became second for the audience award and was nominated for ‘Best use of character’!
Zuiderfilm – Executive producer, production manager
In 2009 a group of experienced filmmakers from the south of The Netherlands decides to combine their strengths. After having worked together on mostly commercial productions for many years the dream to make films as a team is very much alive. The combination of their respective knowledge, craftsmanship and enthusiasm forms the basis for Zuiderfilm. See our website for more information Zuiderfilm.com
Camera Obscura – Executive producer, production manager
A film by the Crew Expendable film collective, made during the National Film Festival in Breda, 2010. The assignment was to make a short film within the time limit of 48hours and following a few criteria, like a specific genre, line, prop and character. We won the award for ‘Best use of prop’ and were nominated for ‘Best music’, ‘Best Actor’ and ‘The special mention award’!
Communicatie.. Best belangrijk – Producer, recording manager
A commercial/short film for promotion of the Communicatie Club Bourgondië. This free and low-budget production has been made to show people the importance of good and clear communication.

A website about everything that deals with 3D and aims at the technically “lower” educated consumer who wants to have more information about 3D equipment and guidelines, in an easy-to-understand language. We offer news, reviews, a 3D guide and lots more information.

CrewExpendable.nl – Design website, executive producer film collective
The Crew Expendable film collective consists of a group of five filmprofessionals we share a passion for making (short)films and therefore we started making films under the name Crew Expendable. I am the executive producer and production manager of the team. Together with a group of professionals from the field we try to make a few (short)films each year. Crew Expendable stopped as a collective in 2010.
